Daniel Akpeyi Leaves Kaizer Chiefs

According to reports, Nigeria international, Daniel Akpeyi has now found employment in the DStv Premiership following his exit from Kaizer Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs fans often love their goalkeepers to bits, and Daniel Akpeyi was no stranger to the affection. The 36-year-old Nigerian has now moved on with his career within the DStv Premiership.

As The South African website reported in June, the former Chippa United and Super Eagles number 1 was included in the group departure that included the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Samir Nurkovic, and Lebogang Manyama.

Akpeyi left somewhat of a Soweto derby hero thanks to blinding performances for Amakhosi against bitter enemies Orlando Pirates during his three seasons as a Glamour Boy.

Following more than two months without a club, the keeper from Nnewi, Nigeria has found a new club.

According to this new report, the former Warri Wolves keeper has signed on the dotted line on a contract offered by Sekhukhune United.

“He has signed a one-year deal, with an option to renew,” a source told Soccer Laduma written by Siseko Gwegwe.
