Dambazzau Harps On Gains Of MIGA 2018

Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazzau (rtd) has reeled off several gains acquired for the parastatal and officials from this year’s Ministry of Interior Games (MIGA 2018) in Kaduna.

 

 

Speaking at the end of the events for MIGA 2018, Dambazzau said the ministry has achieved its aim of enhanced unity among services in its charge as well as the removal of conflicts that might arise from overlap in operations, sports247.ng reports.

Dambazzau also tasked private organisations to engage in marketing and sponsorship relationship with the Games.

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Prisons Service, Federal Fire Service , Nigeria Immigration Service, Ministry of Interior participated in this year’s edition.

At the end of events, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) emerged the overall winner at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

NSCDC finished first with 50 gold, 24 silver and 22 bronze followed by Nigeria Police Force with 31 gold, 32 silver and 24 bronze in second.

Third on the medals table was Nigeria Prisons Service with 2 gold, 13 silver and 26 bronze while the Federal Fire Service came fourth place with 2 gold, 4 silver and 14 bronze.

Nigeria Immigration Service got 12 silver and 25 bronze to clinch fifth position while Ministry of Interior won 2 bronze to finish sixth position.

At the end of it all, Dambazzau said performances of the services and the ministry’s sports club showed technical quality in very keenly contested events, which gives hope for future development.

Dambazzau added: “The objectives of the Games were mostly achieved particularly sharing of intelligence, creating atmosphere of camaraderie and mitigation of inter agency rivalry.”
