CFN technical director, Bashir Mohammed disclosed at length that the continental competitions will take place in two phases, which will be separated by only two days, at the velodrome of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Mohammed expatiated that the African Para-Track Cycling Championship will come first from May 9th to 11th, and will be followed by the CAC Track Championship, which is scheduled for May 13th to 17th at the same venue.
He added that the CFN is embarking on both ventures with total backing from officials of the National Sports Commission (NSC), while affirming that the federation has already taken elaborate steps in developing a strong team to represent Nigeria.
“With Abuja set to host cyclists from across the continent, the NSC in collaboration with the CFN, is focused on ensuring Nigeria presents a competitive, well-prepared and merit-based national team.
“The preparatory phase is a critical step in assembling a strong Team Nigeria contingent, with the cyclists undergoing structured performance assessments and competitive evaluation,” Mohammed pointed out.
