Croatia-based Midfielder Israel Ayuma Tips Flying Eagles To Win U20 World Cup

NK Istra 1961 of Croatia midfielder, Israel Isaac Ayuma has spoken out with unhindered confidence that he and his colleagues in the Nigerian youth national team, Flying Eagles will win this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.

Sports247 reports that Ayuma expressed so much confidence while speaking ahead of the team’s last pair of international friendlies in preparation for the competition, which begins next weekend in Santiago.

Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side will first tango Norway, after which they will battle Saudi Arabia and Colombia, ahead of which they will play host nation Chile in a build-up friendly this Saturday, then tackle Australia on Tuesday.

Casting a look beyond both matches, Ayuma, who played for Mavlon FC of Lagos before travelling abroad, stressed that all players in the Nigerian team are eager to get started in the competition proper and he believes they will go all the way to the title.

He added, “We are fully ready now. My brothers and I are going for the World Cup to become victorious. We are not going just to participate.”

The youngster, who plays alongside Flying Eagles’ attacker, Charles Agada at Istra, then mentioned factors he reckoned would make it possible for the two-time silver medalists to eventually win the championship this year.

“We are going for the trophy, and I know we will do well because we have trained very well. We’ve received good training from the manager and we have good officials. So, I believe in this team, and I know we’ll come out victorious,” Ayuma disclosed.
