With Nigeria’s World Cup qualification hopes hanging by a thread, President of the Nigeria Armwrestling Federation, Engineer Samuel Jackson, has delivered a stirring message to the nation — urging Nigerians not to abandon the Super Eagles in their most difficult moment.
Speaking ahead of the high-stakes clash against Lesotho in Polokwane, Jackson described the situation as a defining point for both the team and the country’s football pride.

He warned that negativity and criticism at this stage could break the spirit of the players, and called instead for collective belief and motivation.
“This is a crisis, yes — but it can also be our comeback story,” Jackson said passionately.
“The Nigerian spirit doesn’t quit. We’ve been here before, and we’ve fought our way out. That’s who we are.”
He emphasized that while mistakes have been made in previous matches, the time for blame has passed. Jackson insisted that what the Super Eagles need now is national unity and emotional backing from millions of supporters who have always believed in miracles in Nigerian football.
“When our people stand behind the team, something changes,” he continued. “The players feed off that energy. Even if qualification seems out of reach, we can still make the impossible happen.”
Jackson concluded by reminding Nigerians that the outcome may not fully be in their control, but faith and fighting spirit have always been the nation’s secret weapons.
“This team can still surprise everyone,” he said. “It’s not over until it’s over — and if any country knows how to turn crisis into comeback, it’s Nigeria.”
