COVID-19 Pushed Katsina United To Postpone Resumption Date Indefinitely

The management of the Katsina United Football club have shifted the earlier announced resumption date until further notice sequel to a new announcement made by the NCDC that contact sports across the country remain banned.

The club had earlier announced a resumption date following the rumors circulated a few days ago in the media that the ban on contact sports have been lifted.

However, the club have made a U-turn by suspending all training activities indefinitely following the new announcement by NCDC that contact Sports are still under ban across the country.

The Secretary of the club Alhaji Sani Tinau in a brief chat with Katsina United media department Wednesday evening declared that the management have decided to postpone the resumption date indefinitely in order to comply with Covid-19 health protocols by the NCDC and PTF.

“We will continue to abide by the protocols and measures stipulated by NCDC/PTF in order to ensure that the spread of Covid-19 is curtailed.

“We had earlier announced that our staffers and players should resume but with the new announcement by the NCDC, the resumption date has been suspended until further notice when it is safe to play football.

“We shall announce the new resumption date in due time as the management will continue to work together in order to ensure that the Standard of the team remains intact.”

He also disclosed that the name of the retained and new players will be published soonest.

“Yes, we are still working very hard on the new squad. We will publish the name of the newly recruited and retained players soon,” he assured.

“We just want our fans to exercise more patient as the management continues to work day and night in order to ensure that a formidable team that will compete evenly is presented in the forthcoming NPFL season.
