Confident Warriors Ready to Shock Bafana – Zimbabwe Coach Michael Nees Declares

Zimbabwe’s head coach, Michael Nees, has expressed confidence that his Warriors are ready to give South Africa a tough battle when both sides meet in their next World Cup qualifying fixture in Durban.

Speaking from the team’s training base, Nees said preparations are in top gear and that the players are fully focused on executing their game plan against the in-form Bafana Bafana. He confirmed that most of his squad members have arrived in camp, with a few more expected in the coming days.

“The boys are motivated and working hard. We know what’s at stake and are confident that we can perfect our strategies before kickoff,” Nees said.

Despite Zimbabwe’s mixed results in the qualifiers so far, the German tactician insists his team won’t be pushovers. “Every team we face will meet a Zimbabwe side ready to fight. We’ve analyzed our past games, learned from our mistakes, and are coming back stronger,” he added.

He also praised the local-based players for their hunger and determination, noting that internal competition for places has been intense. “That’s the spirit I want — everyone fighting for the shirt. It’s not just about playing; it’s about representing the nation with pride.”

The Warriors will face a crucial test when they meet South Africa, who are under pressure themselves after FIFA’s recent points deduction saga.
