Community Football Foundation (CFF) Apoints Paramount Ruler As Grand Patron Of Badagry United FC

Community Football Foundation CFF has appointed His Royal Majesty, The Akran of Badagry Kingdom, De Wheno Aholu Menu- Toyi 1 as Grand Patron of Badagry United Football Club.

This was announced when members of CFF lead by the national facilitator Austin Popo visited His Royal Majesty in his palace over the weekend.

CFF National facilitator, Austin Popo said the body has concluded to have community ownership football clubs across 774 local governments in Nigeria with the aim that such a community club would register with the Corporate Affairs Commission and have a paramount ruler as a grand patron as well as the board of patrons.

“Our visit to His Royal Majesty of Akran of Badagry is to inform the paramount rulers and His royal council of chiefs about the importance of Community football foundation. One of the conditions of forming a community-owned club is that a paramount ruler in the community must be a grand patron; secondly, such a community club must have a board of patrons and register with Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC.

I am glad to announce that The Akran of Badagry Kingdom, De Wheno Aholu Menu- Toyi 1 has been appointed as a Grand Patron of Badagry United,” said Popo who disclosed that each local government would soon have its own community club in days to come.

One of the members of CFF, Comptroller Bello Jibo presented his royal majesty his certificate as the grand patron of Badagry United Football Club.

In his response, the paramount ruler, His Royal Majesty, The Akran of Badagry Kingdom, De Wheno Aholu Menu- Toyi 1 promised to support the Badagry United Football Club saying that he was excited with the honor bestowed on him and prayed for the CFF members.

Among the CFF members that were part of a courtesy visit to the palace of the paramount ruler are, Comptroller Bello Jibo, Chief Abel Mautin, Alhaji Lawal Funtau, Com Danladi Musa, Alhaji Gafar Liameed (CEO 36 lions FC), CFF ICT manager Tijani Sheriff, Bishop Lawson Sampson, Coach Abel Sohel, Coach Michael Adebayo and Coach Femi Lawal.
