Coach Leke Oyede Praises Team’s Performance After Victory Over Sierra Leone

Leke Oyede, the coach of the Nigeria women’s cricket team, expressed his satisfaction following their 60-run victory over Sierra Leone in the ongoing 2024 Nigeria Women’s T20 Invitational Tournament.

Oyede commended the improvement shown by the players and emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of performance throughout the tournament.

“I feel so good, so excited,” Oyede said after the match. “I feel extremely happy that the girls did very well, which enabled us to win the first game. I feel optimistic going into the next game.”

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Oyede highlighted the post-match discussions with the players.

“After the game today, we spoke with the girls, and they are so happy. We made them understand some certain things they did wrong, which gave them the victory,” he explained.

“We discussed some of the areas they could have improved to perform better and emphasized the importance of the team remaining calm and fresh going into the next game.”

Looking ahead to their upcoming match against Tanzania, Oyede emphasized the need for continued focus and determination.

He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to build on their success and deliver another strong performance in the next match.

Oyede reiterated his optimism for the team’s prospects in the tournament. “We are taking it one game at a time, but our ultimate goal is to emerge victorious,” he affirmed.
