The Badagry All Stars, a team made up of ex-internationals and retired players, is celebrating 50 years of existence, serving not just as a sporting group but as a health and wellness platform for aging players still passionate about the beautiful game.

Team Coordinator, Adeshina Semiu, described the club as “iconic,” highlighting its unique blend of legacy and community impact.

Speaking during the presentation in Badagry , President of Badagry All Stars, Emmanuel Abass, expressed gratitude, saying

“We are happy meeting our colleague and brother, Coach Adeyemi Adedeji Anthony, all the way from Switzerland. We are trying to see how we can help all former players in Badagry who now play in the All Stars. We use these games to stay fit, monitor our health, and keep up with our passion.”

Coach Murphy Olalekan, fondly called Alan Ball, also acknowledged the significance of the donation and called for more involvement from former players.

“We want our other ex-internationals and football legends to emulate this kind gesture and support All Stars teams across the country. The impact on morale and health is enormous.”

Responding, Coach Adeyemi emphasized his belief in using football as a tool for unity and continuity.

“Supporting grassroots football and our ex-players is something I’m passionate about. These men laid the foundation for Nigerian football’s success, and it’s only right we show up for them. It’s not just about football; it’s about dignity, legacy, and community.”

The visit and donation ceremony ended on a high note, with team members expressing appreciation and pledging to maintain the spirit of fitness, unity, and football excellence.
