The 26-year-old was in inspired form between the posts, producing three crucial saves at key moments to frustrate Roma’s attack and ensure Udinese claimed all three points.

Okoye’s composure, sharp reflexes and authority in goal stood out, particularly as Roma pushed for an equaliser in the latter stages of the contest.

The decisive moment of the match arrived in the 49th minute when Jurgen Ekkelenkamp stepped up to curl a sublime direct free kick into the back of the net.

His precise right-footed effort proved enough to separate the sides in a tightly contested encounter, with Udinese showing discipline and resilience to see out the result.

Since returning to action after his ban, Okoye’s resurgence has been impressive. The Super Eagles goalkeeper has now recorded four clean sheets, made 41 saves and featured in 15 matches across competitions, underlining his growing influence and consistency for the Friulian club.

His recent performances have not only stabilised Udinese’s defence but have also restored confidence in his shot-stopping ability.
