Chukwueze Targets Better Result Versus Crystal Palace On Sunday

Fulham of England winger, Samuel Chukwueze is picking positives from his side’s 5-4 loss at home versus Manchester City, with a verdict that the result has spurred them to do better against Crystal Palace on Sunday, Sports247 reports.

Tuesday night’s defeat at Craven Cottage stopped Fulham from winning three straight games on the bounce this season in the English Premier League and saw the London-based squad concede five goals at home.

However, Chukwueze, who played as a sub and netted twice in the encounter, relished how his side stormed into an amazing comeback from 5-1 down and almost pulled off a sensational draw in what he described as ‘a crazy game.’

The former Diamond Football Academy of Umuahia whiz-kid, who has previously played for Villarreal of Spain and AC Milan of Italy, got off The Cottagers’ bench in the 46th minute, then scored in the 72nd and 78th minutes.

His Nigerian colleague, Alex Iwobi played 90 minutes of the game and scored earlier in the 57th, while Calvin Bassey was also on for the duration, as Fulham came close to one of the most astonishing comeback exploits in EPL history.

Chukwueze admitted it was a tough defeat to take, but praised his new team’s fighting spirit and declared emphatically that they will appease their fans with a better result in their next game.

That will be Sunday’s London derby away to Crystal Palace, who have Chrisantus Uche in their squad, but Chukwueze is emphatic that The Cottagers’ mood after Tuesday night’s hectic battle is the tonic they need to shock The Eagles this weekend.

“It was a crazy game. We conceded goals we shouldn’t have conceded, but I liked the spirit of the team for the comeback. The chances we created in the second half were almost there.

“It was a difficult one to take because we wanted three wins in a row, but we’ll keep our heads up. We fought until the last minute, and on Sunday, we’re going to give everything for the fans,” Chukwueze promised.
