Chukwueze Cherishes Move To Fulham; Says Iwobi, Bassey Make Him Feel At Home Already

New signing at Fulham of England, Samuel Chukwueze says he is already cherishing his shock summer arrival at Craven Cottage, where he disclosed that the presence of Nigerian compatriots, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey make him feel at home already.

Sports247 reports that Fulham have a long-standing tradition of signing Nigerian players, dating back to the days of Dickson Etuhu, Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman in their past squads, such that the presence of three Super Eagles’ players in their current team takes their relationship with Nigerian stars to an all-time high.

Chukwueze, who previously played for Villarreal of Spain, arrived from AC Milan of Italy only last weekend, but revealed that he is settling down pretty fast with The Cottagers because of the presence of Iwobi and Bassey.

He disclosed, “I’m so happy to be here, and I’m glad to have my friends around at this amazing club. It feels like home, because I have my people around me. I’m already feeling at home from the start.”

Dramatically, the move to Fulham comes 15 years after his attempt to join their fellow-London-based English Premier League rivals, Arsenal fell flat, such that the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup gold medalist disclosed further that he is now thinking of staying put in Queensland for a long time to come.

“Knowing so many people at this club is going to make me give all I have. I’m not thinking of going anywhere else from here … because every player wants to play in the Premier League.

“It’s the best league in the world, I think. So, for now, I’m just focusing on myself. I want to train hard and get the rhythm; so that I can do what I know how to do best,” said the product of Diamond Football Academy of Umuahia.
