Christy Ucheibe Says Super Falcons Taking Nothing for Granted Ahead of Benin Republic Clash

Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe has insisted that there are no small teams in African football as Nigeria prepares to complete their WAFCON qualifying tie against Benin Republic in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

The Benfica star, who played a key role in the 2-0 first-leg victory in Togo last Friday, said the team has done only “half the job” and must finish strong at home.

“We’ve already taken a step forward, but the work isn’t finished,” Ucheibe said. “We know what’s at stake, and we’ll give everything to get the result that keeps us on course for the next WAFCON.”

The midfielder also highlighted the importance of fan support, saying the presence of Nigerian supporters at the MKO Abiola Stadium would serve as extra motivation.

“Our fans are everything to us. Playing in front of them gives us energy, and we want to make them proud,” she added.

With Nigeria already holding a healthy advantage, the Super Falcons are favourites to seal their spot in the next round as they continue their journey towards defending their continental crown.
