Chrisantus Uche Faces Summer Transfer Dilemma, As Crystal Palace Exit Looms

The inability of Super Eagles’ rookie, Chrisantus Uche to tie down a regular starting spot at Crystal Palace of England has brought up his impending exit from the London-based club this summer.

Sports247 gathered that Palace would have been compelled to buy Uche outright from Getafe of Spain, which loaned him to Selhurst Park last summer, but the lad’s inability to get starting roles has put paid to that possibility.

Palace had an agreement to buy Uche from Getafe if the Nigerian youngster gets 10 starting spots this season in the English Premier League, but he has not achieved a single one during his loan spell.

Although he played a cameo role in Thursday’s shock 3-1 win away to Tottenham Hotspur, it was not enough to revive his fortune with The Eagles, but another issue facing Uche is that Getafe still want to sell him.

Details of the report by Tribal Football noted, “The Nigeria international would have had to start ten Premier League matches for the obligatory option to be triggered.

“(However,) Uche hasn’t started a single Premier League match (and they have only nine left to play), so the only way for the Nigerian to stay in England is through a voluntary purchase.

“Otherwise, Uche will return to Getafe, (but) the Madrid club are prepared to sell him this summer. Getafe’s management rate Uche highly but need a sale to ease financial pressure.”
