New arrival at Crystal Palace of England, Chrisantus Uche has revealed how excited he already is, being with his teammates and hopes he can make their fans happy, Sports247 reports.
Although he admitted that his debut was quite disappointing, as he played only the last six minutes and had a single shot on goal in his side’s goalless draw with visiting Sunderland, Uche said he already feels at home in his London-based squad.
The attacker-cum midfielder, who is on loan at Selhurst Park from Getafe of Spain, where he scored five goals in 36 matches, took another look at his debut and reckoned that it was just good enough.
The 22-year-old lad opined, “The game was good, with good players on both sides. Our players have also been good to me, and I’ve already seen that (Jean-Philippe) Mateta is very funny. All of them are good, and the fans are good.”
The lanky lad with pineapple leaves shaped hairstyle added that he was happy with the warm reception that The Eagles’ supporters gave him as he entered the field of play and pledged to always reward them with good performances.
Uche recalled, “As I entered, they started shouting, ‘Uche, Uche,’ and that really motivated me more. For me, I play with inspiration from the fans, and I love everybody.
“Once the fans trust in me, I will give everything … 100%. So, I hope that we will all work together and we’ll be able to make something better happen for this club.”
Uche concluded by admitting that he is looking forward to better outings with the London-based club and declared that he has a huge role to play towards getting better marks with the team.
“This was not the result we wanted. We tried and put in all the work we could, but it did not work. Nevertheless, we’ll keep working every day to get it right,” said the lad with three caps for Nigeria’s national team, Super Eagles.
