A top striker at Warri Wolves of Delta State, Chisom Martins Orji has disclosed that his biggest target with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) returnees is to help them pick a continental ticket at the end of this season.
Sports247 reports that, though The Seasiders are currently ninth on the NPFL log, Orji believes Coach Napoleon Aloma’s squad will continue winning all their matches in order to climb further on the table.
The lanky attacker, who previously played for Sporting Lagos FC, Akwa United of Uyo and Farmalicao of Portugal, promised to keep giving his best in order to help the club that he joined last August succeed.
He added in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that he was happy scoring the lone goal for Warri Wolves in their 1-0 win on Thursday against defending champions, Remo Stars of Ikenne.
Orji retorted gleefully, “It was a wonderful game, and I am happy with my performance. I had always wanted to score against Remo Stars since a long time ago, and I’m glad that I finally got the chance.
“What was on my mind in the match was just to get a goal, so that I would fulfil my dream against the team that I loved to talk about when I was an academy player.”
He then turned his focus on more matches ahead of him and the Warri-based side, with an acknowledgement that he has to keep on working harder each day, in order to make his target of a continental ticket come true with the team.
“Thiis goal made me feel good, but I know that I must keep on improving daily. I also want the team to keep on winning all our matches.
“Let’s see how it goes. By God’s grace, I know we’ll get a continental spot at the end of this season, and I want to help them achieve it in a big way.
“I’ve been injured, and I just came back into the game after two to three months out. Now that I’m back, I want to keep on giving my best, and I pray that God will help me,” Orji supplicated.
