Chioma Nwachukwu has booked her place in the women’s 400m final at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in Indianapolis after finishing second in her heat with a time of 52.97 seconds.
The Nigerian quarter-miler was edged out in the heat by NCAA leader Madison Whyte, who clocked 52.79s to take the win. Despite finishing behind the pace-setter, Nwachukwu ran a composed race to secure automatic qualification for the final.

Her performance underlined her consistency and competitive edge on the big stage, as she navigated a strong field to earn a spot among the finalists.
