CHINEME MARTINS: SUNSHINE STARS IN GRIEF, CONDOLE WITH NASARAWA UNITED

Sunshine Stars express grief and sympathise with Nasarawa United over the passing of Chineme Martins who reportedly slumped on the field of play and later confirmed death at the hospital Sunday.

Club President, Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi on Monday described the death of the young defender as an unfortunate loss before moving to condole Nasarawa United and Martins’ family.

“This is quite unfortunate for our football and more so my friend, Danladi and his Club, though we can’t object the will of Allah. Our heartfelt condolences go to Nasarawa United and Martins family.”

The words of Akinyemi mirrored those of Sunshine Stars coach, Kabiru Dogo who relegated the significance of Sunday’s victory over Abia Warriors to the back seat in mourning of the late player.

“This is no time to celebrate, what happened in Nasarawa is devastating to me; I brought the late player to the Club while in charge and it’s very sad to lose him this way.

“I am so pained and sorry for my people in Nasarawa and the Chineme’s family. We can only accept fate: Allah gives and take”_ Dogo submitted sobbingly during an exclusive post match chat with Sunshine Stars Media.
