Olorogun (Barr) Charles Ufuoma Obule, the Erhi Of Okpe Kingdom on Tuesday night hosted players and officials of Obule Integrated School Sapele to dinner and gala night after a successful outing at the 2021 National Principal Cup Finals in Abuja.
Sports Concave Media reports that other dignitaries at the event including the Wife of Chief Charles Ufuoma Obule who doubles as the proprietress and head of research and study of the school Chief Mrs. Rosemary Obule, Special Adviser on Sports to the Delta State Governor Mr. Lucky Sunday, students captains of industries were treated to best of Nigerian cuisines and hospitality.
Speaking at the event, Olorogun (Barr) Charles Ufuoma Obule, the Erhi Of Okpe Kingdom showered encomium on the players and officials of the school describing them as worthy ambassadors who have returned triumphantly.
”You all should be proud of yourselves, you have returned home triumphantly,” he said.
Chief Obule, who narrated the journey of the school in the last two editions of the Principal’s Cup and also that of the 2021 edition from the state playoffs in Asaba, zonal playoffs in Port Harcourt, and subsequently the quarter-final finish at the National finals in Abuja, said the celebration was a recognition of the excellent performance of the students and a testament to what Obule Intergrated School stands for.
He thanked the guests for honoring his invitation.
Earlier in his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Sports Mr. Lucky Sunday, said the students have written the name of the school which is one of the best in the country on the national scene. He went further to thank Chief and Chief Mrs Charles Ufuoma Obule for all they have done and for the big surprise reception to the team.
Head Coach of the school Onome James was elated as he thanked the Proprietor for the love and support given to the team.
“We are grateful Sir. God bless you” he said.
Team Captain Emmanuel Peters who spoke on behalf of the players also expressed gratitude.
“We are happy that we are being hosted at this reception. This will go a long way in ensuring we strive to do better next time. Thank you very much. He said.
Those at the event included Mr. Omosomwofa Ochuko Samson (Assistant Director of Sports Ministry of Education Asaba), Mr. Bright Obule, Mr. Clever Obule, Chief Ovigu Egbonoge (Sports Officer Ministry of Education)
The highpoint of the event was a toast to the Obule Intergrated School and presentation of branded jerseys from the National Principal Cup Finals to the proprietress and head of research and study of the school Chief Mrs. Rosemary Obule by the head of delegation and SA to the Delta State Governor Mr. Lucky Sunday.
The ceremony which was held at the “Charles Villa” country home of Chief and Chief Mrs. Charles Ufuoma Obule, also featured music, food, and drinks.
