The Nigerian International, Chidozie Awaziem scored his first goal of the season to help Nantes rescue a 1-1 draw in their Ligue 1 clash against Lorient on Sunday.
Awaziem had scored an own goal on the cusp of half time, giving the visitors the lead. However, the 28-year-old made up for it in the dying minutes of the game, heading home to ensure Nantes got one point from the game.

The defender’s equaliser marks his first goal for Nantes since rejoining the club during the summer transfer window. He also completed the most passes in the game (92) and was the most accurate passer to play 45 minutes or more (93%).
The result means that Nantes remain outside of the relegation zone, as they sit 15th with 11 points in 13 games. Meanwhile, Lorient sit 16th with the same points but with a worse goal difference.
Nantes are now unbeaten in two games but they’ll aim to return to winning ways when they travel to face Lyon in their next game on Sunday, November 30. Lorient who are winless in seven matches will also be desperate for victory against Nice on the same day.
Awaziem, who has started every match for Nantes this season, will be key as the Canaries seek to maintain their unbeaten run and climb the league table in the weeks ahead.
