Popular Nigerian skit maker Boda Wasiu has landed himself in unexpected controversy after Chelsea’s thrilling 2–1 win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, following a bold pre-match statement that has now turned against him.
Before the game, Boda Wasiu appeared in a viral video wearing a ladies’ Chelsea jersey where he openly mocked Chelsea supporters.

In the video, he promised that if Chelsea managed to defeat Liverpool, he would lie down flat on the floor and allow one of his Chelsea-fan boys to match him with the Timberland boots he was wearing.
The clip quickly spread across social media, sparking both laughter and anticipation as fans waited to see the outcome of the highly anticipated clash.
On the pitch, the drama lived up to expectations. Moises Caicedo gave Chelsea the lead in the 14th minute with a thunderous strike, but Cody Gakpo restored parity for Liverpool in the 63rd minute.
Just when it seemed the game was heading for a draw, Chelsea’s young star Estevao scored a dramatic winner in the 95th minute, sending the Stamford Bridge faithful into wild celebrations. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was even sent off for over-celebrating the late goal, highlighting just how emotional the moment was.
Off the pitch, however, all eyes turned back to Boda Wasiu. Chelsea fans immediately took over his social media pages, demanding that he fulfill his vow.
Many insisted that if he failed to lie down and take the Timberland “punishment” as promised, they would unfollow him. Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok have since been flooded with memes and comments, with phrases like “Time to pay in Timberlands” and “Chelsea don win, no escape” dominating the conversation.
While Chelsea left the pitch with three crucial points, Boda Wasiu now finds himself under intense pressure to prove his words were not just for laughs, as fans wait impatiently to see whether he will keep his Timberland promise or lose face in front of his massive audience.
