Chelle’s B‑Team Ready: Kabiru Mohammed Targets CHAN Glory

As the Super Eagles B gear up for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda (Aug 2–30), Kwara United defender Kabiru Mohammed affirmed the squad’s alignment with coach Eric Chelle’s aggressive, physical philosophy.

Chelle named a 35‑man provisional squad focused on Nigeria’s home‑based talents . Grouped in Zanzibar’s Group D, Nigeria faces defending champions Senegal, along with Sudan and Congo.

Mohammed described the training as “intense” and “high‑tempo,” in direct response to Chelle’s preference: “Coach likes an aggressive player and that’s what we’re putting up during training.”

He emphasized the squad’s collective understanding of the tactical plan, believing their discipline can unsettle more fancied opponents. “We know what’s expected; we’re building a team capable of contesting with Africa’s best,” he said .

As the final selection approaches, players are pushing hard in camp—a testament to Chelle’s vision—to transform provisional inclusion into CHAN success and reclaim continental honours since their 2018 final run.
