All players in Nigeria’s home-based national team (Super Eagles-B) are under immense pressure at their camp in Ikenne, Ogun State, as they anxiously await the squad’s final roster for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN 2025).
Sports247 gathered that at least 12 players will be dropped from the total number of 35 that are currently working out under the keen eyes of Super Eagles’ technical adviser, Eric Sekou Chelle.

The Franco-Malian tactician is billed to head the B-team’s technical crew at the forthcoming competition that is meant for only players who are plying their trade in their home countries.
Egg heads of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) reckoned that having Chelle take charge of the CHAN 2025 squad would help the gaffer get first-hand experience about the quality of home-based players during the competition that will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda next month.
Nigeria’s first match will be against Senegal on August 5th, followed by a clash with Sudan on August 12th, and then the last group game is against Congo on August 19th.
While fixing eyes on the battles ahead, one of the players in the CHAN Eagles’ camp, Junior Nduka, who is equally Remo Stars of Ikenne’s captain, admitted that pressure is mounting on all 35 lads invited from various clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
However, Nduka, who was recently in the main Eagles’ squad that won the Unity Cup in London, England and then played 1-1 in an international friendly match away to Russia, declared that all players camped at Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne are ready to give their best if called upon by Chelle.
Nduka, who plays in central defence, disclosed: “It has been intense in camp, and the boys are ready. We are all prepared for the task ahead.
“Everyone is under pressure about making the final squad list because the coach wants only the best among the 35 of us in camp, and none of us wants to be dropped.”
