CHAN 2024: Nasarawa United Striker Anas Yusuf Declares – My Ambition Is To Win This Championship

Nasarawa United FC of Lafia striker, Anas Yusuf has declared that he will play his heart out if selected to feature for the home-based Eagles against Sudan, because his ambition is to win the ongoing Championship of African Nations (CHAN 2024).

Heading into Tuesday’s second group match, which the CHAN Eagles must win in order to keep their hopes alive in the competition, Anas added that proper team unity will help them recover from last week’s 1-0 defeat they suffered against Senegal.

Yusuf further disclosed that his personal targets have been boosted by the wonderful experience he is gaining in the national camp and all-round support he gets from his teammates.

The soft-spoken attacker stated, “This camp is very good, and I have experienced a lot of things here. This is my second time in the team, and I’m happy to be at the main tournament.

“I’ve experienced a lot. Before now, there was rivalry in the camp, but now we are representing the green-white-green flag, and we now love one another.”

While acknowledging that team unity and proper bonding are the major assets the home-based players have that is now pushing them towards a revival of hope on Tuesday, Yusuf said he is banking on his own motivation to win CHAN 2024.

“I believe that the bonding of love that we have for one another in this team will help us get something from this competition.

“Personally, for me, my ambition is to win this CHAN for Nigeria. I don’t know of any other thing for now, I just want to win the cup,” Anas reiterated.
