Caykur Rizespor Confirm Okechukwu Azubuike’s ACL Injury, Set To Be Out For 9-months

Turkish club, Caykur Rizespor has confirmed that Nigeria descent Okechukwu Azubuike has undergone successful surgery following the ACL injury sustained during the club’s friendly game against Ümraniyespor.

The club revealed this in an official statement after the operation on his anterior cruciate ligament injury.

“Our professional football player Okechukwu Godson Azubuike, who was injured in the friendly match played with Ümraniyespor at the camp, was admitted to Acıbadem Maslak Hospital Orthopedics and Traumatology specialist Prof. Dr. Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and cartilage repair surgery was performed by Mehmet Emin Erdil.”

Prof. Dr. Erdil stated that the surgery was successful and the athlete will return to the field as soon as possible. The estimated return time of the football player to the field is estimated as 6-9 months.

The club sends its best wishes to Azubike and hopes that he will return to the field stronger than before as he continues his road to recovery.
