CAVB Set to Launch African Beach Volleyball Championship in 2026

The President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Beach Volleyball Commission, Engineer Musa Nimrod, has confirmed that plans are well underway for the launch of a continental beach volleyball championship starting in 2026.

Nimrod described the upcoming event as a milestone in African volleyball, noting that this would be the first dedicated African Beach Volleyball Tour in the continent’s history. He revealed that discussions have reached the final stages and a committee has been appointed to oversee the organisation of the championship.

“I want to assure African beach volleyball lovers that for next year we are going to commence the African Beach Tour,” Nimrod said. “All arrangements will be put in place to start the African Beach Tour. A committee has been set up to look into the organization, how it’s going to take place.”

Expressing his joy at the progress made under the current leadership, Nimrod added, “I’m so happy today that the issue of the African Beach Tour has come to fulfilment in my own leadership through the leadership of Madam Bushra, the president of CAVB. I’m so happy.”

The African Beach Volleyball Championship is expected to boost the sport’s visibility, encourage participation across the continent, and open up more opportunities for African athletes in international beach volleyball competitions.
