Emmanuel Peter last kick sent Excellent academy into the final of this year’s late Stephen Keshi U-17 tournament holding in Benin, Edo state.
The second semi finals of this year’s edition between excellent academy and rockers FC ended goalless and immediately the game went into penalty kicks in favour of the team from ughelli on 4-3 .
The two teams gave account of themselves in regulation time, excellent academy came into the game as a high scoring side but were held up by rockers FC .
Captain fantastic Emmanuel Peter speaking with sports247.ng said ” the team was mindful of their game as it was in the same semi finals they lost in the fourth edition that took place last year .
He further said “when he was taken the last kick that won them the game, he had a lot going through his mind because it was at this stage they lost in the last edition but later went home with the bronze medals .
He said the team is determined this time to win the tournament as they came fully prepared for any opponent.
The final of the fifth late Stephen Keshi U-17 tournament will hold Sunday June 12, 2022 in Benin Edo state.
