Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi has hailed the team’s determination and mental strength following their emphatic 4-1 comeback win over Benin Republic in the WAFU-B U-20 Championship.
Nigeria fell behind to a 24th-minute free-kick by Benin’s Junior Olugbade, but the Eagles equalised through Mohammed Abdullahi before halftime and took control in the second half with three more goals.

“The team’s mentality to fight back in the game shows our determination to compete against the best in the subregion,” Bameyi said after the match.
