Calvary Bible Church Holds Men Of Courage Sports Fiesta

A Pentecostal mission based in the Idimu-Council area of Lagos State, Calvary Bible Church came alive on a different level this Saturday, as the men’s fellowship staged the fourth edition of their sports activities.

A member of the fellowship, Prince Chuks Alloy told Sports247 that the events, which were staged under the theme ‘Men of Courage Sports Fiesta 4.0,’ served a major motive of bringing male members of the church together to relax, have fun and network in a fulfilled environment.

Prince Alloy, who is also a choir member in the church, added: “We organised this sports day in order to promote physical fitness and healthy living amongst men in our church.

“All thanks to the coordinator, Mr. Innocent Asakomhe and his assistant, Mr. Dolapo Johnson, as well as the secretary, Mr. Abbott Mitchell and PRO, Mr. Kenneth Onotue.

“We also appreciate our head pastor, Pastor Olumide Emmanuel, for approving all activities of the day. We had healthy contests in aerobics, scrabble, table tennis, chess, athletics, jenga, ludo, and football.”

The man fondly called ‘Brother Chuks’ concluded with a declaration that Saturday’s line-up of activities and events also served a general purpose of reminding not only members of Calvary Bible Church but every Nigerian in general about the advantages of physical exercise and healthy living.

“Our special message for Nigeria and Nigerians is that we should all cultivate the habit of relaxing regularly after each week of working hard.

“We should also make out time to engage in physical exercise, because the body needs both mental and mobile activities for it to rebuild and function well,” Alloy pointed out.
