Sports247 reports that, with many football analysts and fans across the globe speaking out against Tuesday night’s shock decision, Adepoju has opted to follow popular opinion by also condemning the appeal committee’s verdict.
The usually soft-spoken Adepoju, who is now an ambassador of the Spanish La Liga, having played for Real Madrid B and Real Sociedad of Spain during his heyday, opined that CAF’s decision smeared the image of African football.
“The decision is not good. It’s not good for the image and all that. If a decision is going to be taken, it should have been taken a long time ago, not at the moment, not after two months. I think all those back and forth shouldn’t have been.
“Why did it take this long if this is what the rules are supposed to be? I don’t know what Morocco is going to do now. Are they going to celebrate it? And what about the celebration that Senegal has done?” Adepoju posited.
