The Prosperity Girls have been having a good run in the tournament that serves as qualifiers for CAF Women Champions League and will tomorrow face home side, ASEC Mimosas, at CKB Stadium in Yamoussoukro to determine the zonal champions.
The Prosperity Girls, champions of the region in 2022, suffered an early setback when Comfort Yeboah capitalised on a defensive mix-up between Florence Alexander and goalkeeper Monle Omini to lob into an empty net just two minutes into the match.

Bayelsa, however, wasted no time in responding. In the 15th minute, Shakirat Moshood robbed a USFA defender before weaving past three players and delivering a pinpoint cross for Emem Essien to head home the equaliser.
With momentum on their side, the Nigerians took control of the midfield battle, with Alaba Olabiyi and Vera Samuel dictating play and keeping the Burkinabé side on the back foot.
The decisive moment arrived in the 62nd minute through Seimeyeha Akekoromowei. The former Nasarawa Amazons forward latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the area and unleashed a thunderous strike that flew past the helpless goalkeeper.
Akekoromowei, who had already impressed in the group stage with crucial goals, was deservedly named Player of the Match — her second such award of the tournament.
The victory, which extends Bayelsa’s unbeaten run in the competition, sets up a mouthwatering final against Ivorian champions ASEC Mimosas, who crushed Ghana’s Police Ladies 4-1 earlier on Tuesday to become the first Ivorian side to reach the final.
At stake in Friday’s showdown is not only the WAFU B crown but also qualification for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League and a possible ticket to the FIFA Women’s Club World Cup and FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
Bayelsa Queens, who finished third at the CAF finals in Morocco three years ago, are now just one win away from another appearance on Africa’s biggest stage.
