Dar es Salaam — In a bold move to rally nationwide support, Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC (Yanga) have announced free entry for fans ahead of their CAF Champions League second-leg clash against Malawi’s Silver Strikers this Saturday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Speaking at the club’s headquarters, Yanga Media Officer, Ally Kamwe, said the decision came after overwhelming requests from supporters eager to back the team in their crucial continental tie.

“Our management listened to the fans’ call,” Kamwe stated. “This is their chance to be our 12th man. The gates will open from 10 a.m., and entry will be strictly through Benjamin Mkapa.”

Kamwe confirmed that the squad returned to Dar es Salaam last night and immediately began final preparations for the must-win encounter.
He added that while rivals Simba SC might be hoping for Yanga’s elimination, the team remains focused and confident of advancing.
“We know others would like to see us lose, but that won’t happen,” he said. “We’re fully prepared to get the result we need.”
Yanga must win 2–0 to overturn their 1–0 first-leg loss and progress to the CAF Champions League 2025/26 group stage.
The move to open the stadium gates for free is expected to attract a massive crowd — turning Benjamin Mkapa Stadium into a fortress of yellow and green as Tanzania rallies behind its continental representatives.
