Ahead of Friday’s CAF Champions league draw ceremony scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, The CEO and Vice Chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League champions Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi, Mike Idoko has called on Nigerian’s never to lose hope on the team.

Lobi stars were crowned champions of the NPFL just after 24 league games out of a regular 38 in a consensus by the League Management Company and Club owners after crisis rocked Nigerian football immediately after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia a situation that saw the league stopped at the time.

Lobi Stars have been seeded in pot four of the draws alongside JS Sauora of Algeria, Ismaili of Egypt & Simba Lions of Tanzania which means they will face some of the fiercest team’s in Africa and Vice Chairman of the team has told Sports247.ng that Lobi is a team with a strong reputation in continental football, stressing that their track record will speak for them after the draws. “Most people who don’t have confidence in us don’t really know us and what we are capable of. Lobi is a team with character and strength and we have shown that during the preliminaries and first round qualifiers.

Being seeded in Pot four means we will face the Al Haly’s, the TP Mazembe’s of this world but I want to tell Nigerians that we are ready to make them proud. Honestly most people didn’t believe we will get to this stage but here we are so I am saying don’t lose hope.”

Lobi stars scaled through the preliminary stage of the championship beating Cameroon’s UMS de Loum before besting Gor Mahia of Kenya in a first round tricky tie.
