Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League, Enugu Rangers and Rivers United, have discovered their opponents for the preliminary round of the 2026/27 continental campaign.
Enugu Rangers will face Benin Republic side AS Sobemap, while Rivers United have been drawn against Ivorian club FC San Pedro as both Nigerian clubs begin their quest for continental success.
The first-leg matches are scheduled to take place between September 19 and 21, 2026, with the return legs set for September 26 to 28.
Rangers will open their campaign against AS Sobemap, with the Nigerian side expected to make home advantage count before travelling for the decisive second leg.
Rivers United, meanwhile, face an away assignment against FC San Pedro in the first leg before hosting the Ivorian club in the return fixture.
The two Nigerian representatives will be aiming to negotiate the preliminary round successfully and move closer to securing a place in the next stage of Africa’s premier club competition.

Both Rangers and Rivers United will be hoping to make positive starts and maintain Nigeria’s presence in the continent’s elite club competition as the new CAF Champions League season gets underway.
