Buruj Sports Academy on Sunday evening walloped Leaders FC 4-0 in another preparatory game ahead of their participation in this year’s English and Welsh Super Cup in the United Kingdom.

Another bright spot of the enthralling game was the display of Buruj’s whizkid Raheem Salaudeen who will be celebrating his 9th birthday on Monday, May 13th. Against all odds, he was on the starting line up and gave a good account of himself to the admiration of the football fans who watched the game.

While reacting to the game, the Chairman of Ikorodu Divisional Football Association hailed Buruj Boys for their dazzling display just as he promised to organise more friendly games to help the team prepare well ahead of their trip to England.

He also vowed to work more to develop the standard of grassroots football in the Ikorodu Division, while also praising the sportsmanship of CEO Salaudeen Waheed.

“I am very happy to watch Buruj Boys in action. They are very young but they gave a good account of themselves. We will continue to support them and I promise to organise more friendly games for their preparation ahead of their trip to the United Kingdom.”

“Hopefully, with what we saw here today, I think sky will be their starting point. We are proud to have them in Ikorodu Division and it will help us to provide more facilities to raise the standard of grassroots football in the Division. ”

Buruj Boys scored their first goal in the 33rd minute courtesy a penalty off the boot of Noah Salaudeen who recently returned from the United Kingdom after starring in Manchester last year. Dim Chinoso added the second in the 55th minute before another UK returnee Akuba Ignatius converted another penalty in the 70th minute.
Noah completed his brace in the 78th minute with a fine goal to complete the rout of their opponents who also gave a good account of themselves but couldn’t match the effort of the 2018 English Super Cup defending champions.
