BURUJ BOYS LOST UNLUCKILY TO DIVINE FC [3 – 2] AFTER AN IMPRESSIVE PLAY

A superb play from Buruj Boys entertaining the spectators while Paul Okey, Gideon Usulor, Ignatius Akuba lost their excellent chances. At 14mins Divine FC scored their first goal via a carefree mistake from Buruj Sports Academy Defender Acha James.

Pressing further during the 18mins of the game, Noah Salaudeen scored an equalizing goal with an assist from Chidera Amuji. In the 44mins Divine FC scored their second goal through a corner kick when BSA midfielder Gideon Usulor failed to connect well with the ball.

The first half ended 2 – 1

During the second half Paul Okey missed a glearing opportunity to equalise back after so much effort by the BSA boys. At 65mins the spectators got geared up with a fantastic equalising goal from Samson Austine via a free kick at 22 yards resulting in 2 – 2.

In the dieing 97mins, coupled with lack of accuracy and integrity from the referee led to a controversial goal scored by the Divine FC Attacker who pushed Buruj Sports Academy Defender Aliu Fatai before heading the ball into the net.

The referee blow the final whistle after the Buruj Boys have made their passes, to end the game in 3 – 2 to favour Divine FC.

When giving analysis on the match Dr. Salaudeen Waheed Buruj the CEO of Buruj Sports Academy said ” I’m not disappointed at today’s match even though we couldn’t convert all our chances, kudos to my boys for playing good football, teaching the opponent the definition of quality football and also show them that football is all about applying technics and not body size.
