Buruj Sports Academy and Lakeside FC on Thursday afternoon ended their friendly game in a 2-2 draw inside the Gbagada Youth Development Centre, Gbagada, Lagos.

The match which was a follow-up to their recent test skills exercise which took place at Agege Mini Stadium last Sunday commenced in a frenetic pace and it took just 3 minutes before the 2019 Super Cup campaigners took the lead courtesy a penalty goal from Captain of the side Noah Salaudeen.

The Lakeside Boys, however, restored parity in the 28th minute after the referee awarded them a penalty of their own and went ahead to take the lead in the 59th minute before Esser Orion converted another penalty goal in the 75th minute to tie the game at 2 goals apiece.

It was a game that had it all in terms of entertainment and display of skills from both sets of players but none of the two sides could find a winner before the end of the duration.

While reacting on the performance of the team, the CEO Salaudeen Waheed commended some of the boys for what he described as individual brilliance, adding that the game offered the technical department some clues as they prepare a team ahead of their next foreign outings.

“The game against Lakeside was good to watch and I want to commend some of our boys for what they did. It shows that they are learning very fast and watching from the sidelines, the technical crew are already taking notes so that we will know the areas we need to work on. ”

“We are using the friendly games to build a new team for our next outings and as the new players join us, we will continue to inject them into the team until we ate satisfied that they can meet our expectations. Our recent UK outing was an eye-opener for us to do the needful ahead of time, ” he said.
