Burkina Faso has been confirmed as replacement for Ghana in the upcoming WAFU B Women’s Four-Nation Tournament, scheduled to hold in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from February 27 to March 7, 2026.

Ghana pulled out of the regional competition after opting to participate in the Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates, prompting organisers to invite Burkina Faso as a replacement.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Falcons will take part in the tournament as part of their final preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be staged in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
Nigeria will face hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Senegal in the four-nation tournament, offering the Super Falcons valuable competitive exposure ahead of WAFCON.
The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is particularly significant, as it will also serve as Africa’s qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, adding extra importance to Nigeria’s build-up fixtures.
With this tournament, the Super Falcons aim to fine-tune tactics, assess squad depth, and build momentum as they chase continental glory and a place on the world stage once again.
