Buqueson FA emerged champions of the AWO CUP U13 Final 2025 after edging Sunshine FA 4–1 on penalties following a thrilling 1–1 draw in regulation time at Ogijo Community School playing ground.

The final lived up to expectations as both teams showcased discipline, skill, and tactical awareness befitting a championship match. Sunshine FA struck first from a well-executed free kick, taking an early lead and putting Buqueson under pressure.
Buqueson FA responded with composure, and it was Malik Babatunde who restored parity with a crucial equaliser, reigniting his team’s title hopes and sending the contest into a tense penalty shootout.
In the shootout, Buqueson FA were flawless from the spot. Malik Babatunde stepped up to take the decisive final penalty, calmly converting to seal a 4–1 victory and confirm Buqueson FA as champions of the U13 category.

In the placement matches, Better Tomorrow FA (Betisa) secured third place, earning a prize of ₦70,000, while Buqueson took home ₦120,000 as champion, runner-up Sunshine FA were rewarded with ₦100,000 and the silver medal for their impressive tournament run.
The AWO CUP U13 Final once again highlighted emerging grassroots talent and reaffirmed the competition’s role as a vital platform for youth football development.
