Sports247 reports that Saka is now in line behind Erling Haaland of Manchester City, Mohammed Salah of Liverpool, Casemiro of Manchester United and Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool on the top earner’s roll call.
This comes after Saka sealed a deal that will see his salary rise in excess of £300,000-a-week and top of Arsenal’s wage bill, ahead of Kai Havertz, who reportedly earns £280,000-per-week.
However, Saka’s new deal is still way behind that of Haaland, who tops the overall earners’ log with £525,000-per-week, which is also widely considered as the EPL’s biggest contract ever in history.
Also ahead of Saka are Salah (£400,000-per-week), Casemiro (£350,000-per-week) and Van Dijk (£350,000-per-week), while Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United is joint-fifth also on £300,000-per-week.
The next four players are Omar Marmoush of Manchester City (£295,000-per-week), Alexander Isak of Liverpool (£280,000-per-week), Kai Havertz of Arsenal (£280,000-per-week) and Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal (£265-000-per-week).
A citation for Saka by Daily Mail noted in part, “(He has) agreed a massive five-year extension to make him Arsenal’s highest earner.
“The 24-year-old was under contract until 2027 but committed his future to his boyhood club until 2031 with a new deal which is expected to net him close to £80m.
“Saka has been a key figure in the club’s recent title challenges, netting 40 league goals since the start of the 2022 season and 54 in all competitions.
“The fresh terms should certainly bolster his confidence ahead of a crucial run of games with his club – and summer with his country.”
After signing his new deal, Saka said: “I’m feeling amazing. I think it’s a fantastic moment for my family and for me. I feel immense joy to continue my journey at this club. For me, it was an easy commitment.
“I just hope to win everything here. I believe the next few years are going to be the years that we get over the line, and we’re able to win trophies and make history for this club. We’re back where we belong.”
