Buckley Banks on Footwork to Upend Usman This Weekend

UFC standout Joaquín Buckley believes his unrivalled movement will carry him to victory when he faces former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman this Saturday night.

Speaking at the pre-fight media day, Buckley insisted that while many fighters in the division rely on brute strength and stand‑and‑trade exchanges, his dynamic footwork sets him apart.

“It’s just good footwork, good footwork—moving around Kamaru Usman,” Buckley said. “At the end of the day, there’s a lot of fighters in my division who don’t know how to move. They kind of stand right in front of each other.

“That’s why I believe my style—my being dynamic—is very unique. Nobody fights like me. None of the guys that Kamaru trains with move like me whatsoever. So he’s not going to be prepared for what he sees when he steps out into the octagon.”

The bout, which headlines this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card, pits Buckley’s unorthodox striking and elusive footwork against Usman’s championship experience and relentless pressure.

Fans and pundits alike are intrigued to see whether Buckley’s movement can frustrate Usman’s takedowns and deliver a statement win.
