As the countdown to Ibro-Peckham Football Competition popularly known as Marlians Cup 2025 begins, the first and largest grassroots football competition in IFO local government and its environs is buzzing with anticipation.
Among the contenders, The 2023 champion stands out, fueled by the unwavering determination of its newly employed Head Coach, Anisere Idowu.

After a commendable second-place finish in the previous edition, Coach Anisere Idowu is resolute in his belief that this year, the championship is within their grasp.
“Last year, we came second, but this year, we are more determined,” Coach Anisere Idowu expressed in a recent interview with Sports247.
“We have seen ourselves as champions, the team have tasted the greatness once and we are the ones lifting the trophy this year.”
The Marlians Cup has evolved into more than just a football tournament; it’s a celebration of community spirit and a beacon for aspiring talents. The 2024 edition saw Juvenile FC of Ilaro Ogun State clinch the title defeating Olomu FC
The National Institute of Sports certified coach, Anisere Idowu commitment to grassroots football was exceptional with his years of experience, developing and nurturing talents to attain future benefit for the nation.
With a substantial prize pool of £300 pounds and 32 teams set to compete in a group format, Marlians Cup promises more goals, drama, and unforgettable moments.
As the tournament approaches, all eyes will be on Olomu FC to see if they can turn their Coach vision into reality and etch their name again into Ibro-Peckham Football Competition history.
