Seike struck just six minutes into the match, finishing calmly after a well-timed assist from M. Haley to put the visitors ahead. That proved to be the only goal of the night, as Brighton held firm to secure all three points in a tightly contested fixture.

Beyond the football, the match provided a heartwarming subplot for Nigerian fans. Super Falcons stars Chiamaka Nnadozie and Rofiat Imuran were reunited on opposite sides, sharing smiles and warm moments after going head-to-head in the Women’s Super League clash.

Nnadozie, in goal for the Lionesses, and Imuran, featuring for Brighton, both delivered solid displays for their respective teams.

Despite late pressure from the hosts, Brighton’s defensive discipline ensured Seike’s early strike remained the winner, lifting the Seagulls to an important away victory.
