BREAKING: Nigerian Starlet Favour Aroyameh Signs With North Texas SC After Making History in Lagos

The 18-year-old midfield dynamo becomes the latest talent to bridge African grassroots football and the American pro scene

In a move that underscores the global reach of modern football, North Texas SC has signed 18-year-old Nigerian sensation Favour Aroyameh to a professional contract through 2026, with an option for 2027.

The dynamic midfielder arrives from Inter Lagos FC, where he recently captained the team during its inaugural season in the Nigeria National League.

Aroyameh’s impact in Nigeria was immediate and historic — most notably, he scored Inter Lagos’ first-ever home goal on November 25, 2023, etching his name into the club’s legacy.

That performance, along with his consistent midfield dominance, caught the attention of international scouts and led to his transfer to the FC Dallas affiliate competing in the MLS NEXT Pro.

“Favour is a mobile box-to-box player with a big engine and real quality on the ball,” said North Texas SC head coach John Gall.

“He can break lines, disrupt opposition play, and has an advanced football IQ. His international experience at just 18 adds great value to what we’re building.”

Originally from Port Harcourt, Aroyameh honed his skills at the Collins Edwin SC Academy before taking a bold leap to Russia in 2021 with FCD Vista.

He returned to Nigeria in 2023 to help launch Inter Lagos, a club founded with the ambition to redefine the nation’s footballing future through sustainable development and youth empowerment.

Standing 5’10” and weighing 160 lbs, Aroyameh blends strength with creativity. His playing style and leadership have earned comparisons to seasoned professionals far beyond his age.

Inter Lagos FC congratulated their departing captain, calling him “a beacon of our values and a proud example of what Nigerian football can produce with vision and commitment.”

As he prepares to don the North Texas SC jersey, Aroyameh represents more than just a signing — he is a symbol of the growing bridge between African football academies and the U.S. development system.
