Genesis was in complete control from the first whistle, showcasing speed, precision, and tactical * to close out the match early. Her victory marks the first medal of the evening for Nigeria — and the momentum is officially on.

“I came here with one goal: to win gold for Nigeria. This is for my team, my coaches, and everyone back home,” Genesis said moments after her triumph.

Her win adds to the four gold medals Nigeria captured yesterday and sets the tone for the six other finalists still to compete tonight.

Finals are underway, with Khadijat Idris (55kg), Jumoke Adekoye (59kg), Ebipatei Mughenbofa (65kg), Ebi Biogos (72kg) in the women’s division, and Stephen Izolo (65kg) and Ebikeme Newlife (92kg) in the men’s matches — all vying to join Genesis on the top of the podium.
