Ilorin, June 30, 2025 – Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has announced a ₦5 million cash reward and a plot of land for each player of Kwara United Football Club, following their victory in the 2025 President Federation Cup.
The Governor made the announcement during a reception held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Ilorin, in honour of the team’s national triumph.

Kwara United defeated Abakaliki City FC in the final on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, clinching their first-ever President Federation Cup title after a goalless draw and a dramatic 4–3 penalty shootout win.
The Governor described the victory as a “proud moment for the state” and praised the players and technical crew for their dedication, resilience, and commitment.
In addition to the senior team’s win, Kwara United’s U-19 side also emerged champions of the inaugural National Youth League, completing a historic double for the state.
The Federation Cup victory also qualifies Kwara United for the CAF Confederation Cup, placing them on the continental stage for the upcoming season.
The Governor’s gesture is being widely celebrated as a bold statement of support for sports development and youth empowerment in the state.
With this achievement, Kwara State cements its place as a rising powerhouse in Nigerian football.
