Malachi Ogunleye has officially signed his first professional contract with Premier League side AFC Bournemouth ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
The central midfielder, who has developed through the club’s academy system, took the next step in his career with the full support of his family, who were present to witness the proud and emotional moment.
Ogunleye has also confirmed his commitment to represent Nigeria at international level. He expressed interest in joining the Flying Eagles for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in South Africa, citing recognition from Nigerian media and a recent visit to the country as key motivations.
“I’ve had some recognition from the newspapers in Nigeria, so it’s been nice to see that,” Ogunleye said.
Now officially part of Bournemouth’s senior setup, Ogunleye is focused on breaking into the first team and representing Nigeria on the international stage
