Bloemfontein Celtic 0-2 Rivers United: Our Job Is Not Yet Completed, Stanley Eguma Warns His Players Against Complacency

Despite his team’s impressive 2-0 away win over Bloemfontein Celtic in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup encounter, Coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma has warned his players against complacency ahead of the return leg in Nigeria.

Rivers United yesterday won 2-0 away from home against the South African side, Bloemfontein Celtic, with Godwin Aguda and Fortune Omoniwari getting both goals for Stanley Eguma’s side.

The result puts Rivers United in a comfortable position ahead of the reverse fixture, to qualify for the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite the win, the experienced gaffer wasn’t satisfied as he admitted that the job wasn’t done yet, till the execution of the return leg in Nigeria, even though he commended the efforts of his players for a job well done against a good side like Bleofeintein Celtic.

“It was a great performance from the team, I am delighted with the win, it’s not an easy one because they (Bleofeintein Celtic) are a very good team, well organized and disciplined. But still, the job is not yet completed till the second leg, we still have to work hard and stay focused to ensure that we qualify for the group stages of the competition”, he said.

Rivers United will only need to avoid a two-goal margin defeat to the South African side to qualify for the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
