Blessing Akintoye delivered a dominant double at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships, smashing her personal best in the women’s 400m before returning to the track to win the 200m final.

The Nigerian quarter-miler outclassed the field in the 400m, clocking a new personal best of 52.28 seconds to take gold in emphatic fashion.
Her nearest challenger, Emilia Tangara, trailed home almost a second and a half behind in 53.48s, underlining Akintoye’s superiority in the event.
Akintoye then completed a superb sprint double in the 200m, winning the final in 23.67 seconds. Earlier in the prelims, she had already set a new personal best of 23.59s, signaling her intent before finishing the job in the final.
The double victory capped a standout championship performance for Akintoye, highlighting her speed, endurance, and growing status as one of the most exciting Nigerian athletes on the U.S. collegiate indoor circuit.
